Certified Diamonds

You can have confidence in any diamond purchased from Zamel's however, our certified diamonds provide you with additional peace of mind.

Certified diamonds have gone through a rigorous unbiased inspection by an independent gemological laboratory. The laboratory issues a grading report also known as a certificate, verifying a diamond’s attributes.

A report describes the diamonds characteristics such as the clarity, colour, cut grades and carat weight as well as its proportions and symmetry.

If multiple diamonds within a piece are certified, a certificate is provided for each stone.

Zamel's certified diamonds are certified by one of the following three credible grading laboratories:

Gemological Institute of America (GIA)

GIA is widely considered to be the world’s foremost authority in diamond certification.  Established in 1931, they are an independent non-profit entity also known for educational services and gemological research.

Every stone submitted for certification is inspected by four expert graders and gemologists to ensure maximum accuracy and grading consistency.

International Gemological Institute (IGI)

Established in 1975, the IGI is the largest independent gemological laboratory in the world, with locations in all major diamond trade cities.

Each diamond is scientifically analysed by several gemologists, who combine their experience with state-of-the-art equipment to produce a precise description of the diamond and the quality of its cut according to the strictest international system.

Diamond Certification Laboratory of Australia (DCLA)

DCLA is Australia's premier diamond grading laboratory, providing independent and guaranteed diamond grading certificates or diamond grading reports for natural diamonds.

The DCLA remains the only internationally recognised diamond certification laboratory in Australia, grading diamonds in accordance with International rules for grading polished diamonds.
